the Hoover dam

i finally developed some film i took this summer during our Grand Canyon trip, here i scanned some film, happy with the colors of the Fujifilm Fujicolor Superia 200 ISO 200, the camera, my old dear Nikkormat EL, even if film is not as 'convenient' as digital, is always a nice surprise when at least 2 photos come out OK from a whole roll, i like the old ways now & then too

The new quarters of the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego are about to house 310 pounds of turmeric. Substantial quantities of clove and cumin will be on hand, too; about 180 pounds of each. The amounts of ginger, pepper and annatto will be only slightly smaller.

All of these spices are courtesy of Brazilian sculptor Ernesto Neto, whose latest creation will fill the largest gallery in the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego's renovated Santa Fe Depot baggage building (now called the Jacobs Building) when it opens to the public Jan. 21.
